On June 28-29 a Kazakhstan delegation at the head of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.R.Jaksybekov visited the cities of Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan. The delegation membership was represented by the executives of home financial institutions Astana Finance JSC, BankTuranAlem, Development Bank of Kazakshtan, NK Kazakhstan Engineering, as well as machine-building complex enterprises, such as Tynys JSC, Central-Asian Aero-industrial Association, Ispat-Karmet, Aviaremont CJSC, Isker JSC, Kostanai Engine Maintenance Plant, Semipalatinsk Machine-building Plant, Company KazTransformer Ltd, Kainar, Ural Plant Metallist JSC, Kirov Machine-building Plant, PZTM JSC, Electrotrance Service and others. The aim of the Kazakhstani industrialists visit was to become familiar with the state of the machine building and defense complex in Tatarstan.

The visit is timed to the first anniversary of the Kazakhstan-KAMAZ Automobile Consortium foundation. The consortium was founded on July 02, 2003 with the support of the RK Ministry of Industry and Trade. The idea of the consortium foundation meets the priorities of Kazakhstan Industrial and Innovation Development Strategy for 2005-2013, it is caused by the necessity of the machine-building complex development in the Republic, as well as by keen demand for the trucks in the high-growth construction sector.

In the network of the Consortium further operation the participants highlighted following key business lines: development of assembly manufacturing of the KAMAZ trucks and special machinery for the KAMAZ trucks chassis at Kazakhstan plants, manufacturing of components, junctions and spare parts for future supply to KAMAZ OJSC, assembly productions and Kazakhstan spare parts market; joint manufacturing of wheeled tractors and buses in Kazakhstan. The consortium is planning as well to implement city buses and small capacity buses manufacturing project in Kazakhstan. "Kazakhstan government can finance new manufacturing specially for KAMAZes, if the product finds market," said Adilbek Jaksybekov.

The positive experience of Astana Finance JSC in the development of KAMAZ OJSC products new promotion was as well taken into consideration. "Among the markets outside Russia, Kazakhstan, whose economy is developing rapidly, is becoming country number one for KAMAZ. We stake on better-ordered relationships in manufacturing and sales, and on the development of the partner relationships with Kazakhstan enterprises," answered Sergey Kologin, General Director of KAMAZ.

As is well known, the consortium includes seven Kazakhstan companies, where Astana Finance JSC is one of the major dealers of KAMAZ OJSC, who supplies the country market with trucks through a three-year leasing scheme, which today is the best offer for the consumers. Chairman of Astana Finance JSC Kintal Islamov noted that the last year of operation with the consortium showed that this business line is promising and topical, over the past period 365 units of machinery had been sold, and the demand kept on growing.

The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Cooperation of the Republic of Tatarstan and General Director of KAMAZ OJSC signed a meeting protocol. The two-day visit program included as well seeing Kazan Helicopter Plant, seeing military, transport, passenger modifications, visiting Federal State Unitary Enterprise Sergo Plant Production Association in Kazan, which develops double-line production, one of which is manufacturing of small-bores and aircraft crew recovery aids, the other is manufacturing of domestic refrigerators and refrigerator cars, shock absorbers etc.
