Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is a collegial body of the Company, it implements the general management of the Company, except for taking the decisions which are in competency of the general meeting of shareholders according to legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Articles of Association of the Company.

The Board of Directors plays a main role in the Company’s corporate management and is governed by the principles of corporate management according to the Company’s Corporate Management Code.

The objectives of the Board of Directors are aiming at the maximum profit and an increase in assets of the Company, protection of shareholders’ rights and exercise of shareholders’ legitimate interests.

The Company’s Board of Directors consists of two members, one of whom are non-executive director in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Mr. Kintal Kintalyevich Islamov, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Astana Finance JSC. A graduate of the National Economy Institute and of Pedagogical Institute of foreign languages. He has been working as an Engineer, a Financial Analyst, and a Deputy Council on Project Preparation. He came to Astana Finance in 1999. He is a member of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange Committee. From March 2009, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Astana Finance JSC.

Mr. Kintal Islamov while being a CEO of a small financial company for several years, turned the Company into one of the largest financial holdings in Kazakhstan, which nowadays has solid leadership positions among financial institutions in Kazakhstan.

He was among the first who broadened up the area of mortgage lending, and successfully implemented many investment projects, and also agricultural and transport leasing programs.

Mr. Aitenov Marat Duisenbekovich, Member of the Board of Directors. After the excellent career as a lawyer, Mr. Aitenov acquired a large experience in financial services by working in the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning, the Institute of economic research, the National Innovative Fund JSC. Recently Mr. Aitenov has moved to Astana Finance from Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund where he was a Managing Director.
